Summary

We are looking for an experienced Product Designer to join our tight-knit, distributed team of technology professionals working throughout the US and abroad. This ideal candidate is someone who can work autonomously and manage multiple projects while supporting the work of other people on their team. They are someone who appreciates the importance of design's contribution to a product's success and has the ability to articulate the complexities of design to their non-design team members. We want this person to be focused on the people on the other side of the screen and have natural empathy skills that are continually developed by a deliberate approach to understanding users. We want them to be a craftsperson at heart who holds themself to a high standard of producing functional, elegant designs.  Finally, we would like this person to be someone who thinks by doing and uses creativity as a vehicle for innovation. Though this role would start on a Part Time basis the goal is to grow this into a full time role and we hope this person is someone who is looking for a team they can work with far into the future.

Required Experience

  • At least 1-3 years of experience as a professional UX/UI Designer
  • Experience designing a variety of technology applications across different platforms and business cases
  • Experience organizing and conducting various research initiatives
  • Experienced in various synthesis and ideation methodologies meant to produce understanding and generate new ideas
  • Proficient in producing high quality UX design artifacts such as personas, concept maps, user flows, journey maps, storyboards, etc.
  • Experience producing clean, testable designs ranging from sketches to wireframes to high fidelity mockups
  • Experienced with various forms of testing as part of an iterative approach to design
  • A firm understanding of basic visual & communication design principles
  • Comfortable communicating complex design challenges and ideas to non-designers in a variety of verbal, written, and visual ways
  • Experience working with a cross-functional team of designers, software developers, and product managers
  • Comfortable using relevant design and prototyping tools (e.g. Figma, Sketch, Miro, Adobe Creative suite, Invision, etc.)

Nice to Haves

  • Advanced skills in graphic design
  • Experience in brand identity design
  • Any skills or affinity for copywriting
  • A familiarity with Lean Startup principles
  • Familiarity with project management tools Notion and/or Teamwork
  • Familiarity with low-code/no-code tools such as Webflow or Bubble
