Position Summary

We are looking for a product designer to join our growing team and evolving studio.  This ideal candidate is a craftsperson that believes in the power of design to simplify a complex world and create products that delight users and help businesses achieve their goals.  This person has an especially strong foundation in user experience design but the skills to carry out an end-to-end design process and deliver high-quality visual designs that are ready for implementation.  They are focused on the end user and have a natural penchant for building empathy.  They are advocates of good design and pride themselves on their ability to articulate the design process and design decision-making.  This ideal candidate knows how to work autonomously while embracing the challenges of working with a cross-functional, distributed team and wants to build a long term relationship with a healthy, happy, productive team.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Design a variety of technology applications across different platforms and business cases
  • Participate and lead in project discovery activities to identify business requirements, goals, needs, and constraints
  • Organize and conduct ongoing user research initiatives employing various methods and tools
  • Lead synthesis and ideation activities meant to produce insight and generate new ideas
  • Produce high quality UX design artifacts such as user archetypes, concept maps, user flows, journey maps and storyboards
  • Produce clean, testable visual designs ranging from sketches to wireframes to high-fidelity mock ups ready for implementation
  • Develop and maintain functional pattern libraries
  • Conduct different forms of testing as an iterative approach to designing products
  • Successfully communicate design decision-making and advocate for good design practices with cross-functional team members

Who You Are

  • You have at least 3+ years of experience as a professional product / interaction / UX/UI designer
  • You are passionate about design and constantly seeking to expand your knowledge and grow your skill set
  • You have a strong portfolio that demonstrates an intelligent and thoughtful process to designing a variety of functional, elegant applications
  • You’re a visual, highly creative person with an eye for detail and a commitment to quality of work
  • You are able to operate autonomously in a remote work environment where you need to collaborate with cross-functional team members on multiple projects at a time
  • You’re organized, accountable and a great team player who wants to be a part of a productive team of professionals
  • You’re fluent in english or a native speaker and are located within a North American timezone

Nice to Haves

  • Advanced skills in graphic design and/or motion graphics
  • Experience in brand identity design
  • Any skills or affinity for copywriting
  • A familiarity with Lean Startup principles
  • Familiarity with low-code/no-code tools such as Webflow or Bubble

Working at Flux Bucket

  • 80-90% of your time will be spent doing active design work on various projects
  • Meetings are typically scheduled between the hours of 9a-5p CST
  • Outside of meetings you are free to complete your work around your own schedule
  • We provide a consistent workload of 30-40 hours of work per week and expect our full time team members to produce 30 hours of billable project work per week at a minimum
  • We expect our team to communicate and coordinate with your team on a daily basis to unblock and help each other complete your work

Compensation Range

$55-$75/hr depending on experience
